What SaaS mode actually is
SaaS mode is a set of features in GoHighLevel's SaaS Pro plan that automates the business of reselling GHL as your own software. When SaaS mode is active, you have a branded pricing page where potential clients can see your plans, sign up and enter their card details. Stripe processes the payment. GHL creates the client sub-account automatically. Recurring billing runs every month without you doing anything. Failed payments trigger automatic dunning emails. Cancellations pause or revoke access automatically.
Before SaaS mode, agencies on the Agency Unlimited plan had to create client sub-accounts manually, invoice clients separately and track subscriptions in a spreadsheet. SaaS mode makes the entire operation automatic and scalable. You can onboard 50 clients without 50 times the admin work because the billing and account creation is handled by the system.
Who SaaS mode is for
SaaS mode is designed for two types of people. The first is marketing agencies that already have a client base and want to add a recurring software revenue stream to their income. Instead of one-off project fees, you charge clients a monthly subscription for access to your branded marketing platform. The software revenue continues whether or not you do any additional work for those clients that month.
The second is entrepreneurs who want to build a software business without building the software. Instead of spending $500,000 developing a CRM from scratch, you white-label GHL, build a niche-specific snapshot (for plumbers, real estate agents, gyms or any specific vertical) and sell the platform to that niche at a premium. The entire backend is GHL. Your clients experience it as your proprietary software.
Which plan you need
SaaS mode requires the SaaS Pro plan at $497 per month. Agency Unlimited at $297 covers unlimited sub-accounts and white-label branding but does not include automated billing or the self-onboarding pricing page. If you are just starting with GHL and testing whether the platform works for you, start on Agency Unlimited or even the Starter plan. Upgrade to SaaS Pro once you have your first few clients and are ready to automate the billing.
Setting your pricing
Most agencies and SaaS resellers on GHL use one of two pricing approaches. The first mirrors GHL's own plan structure: a starter tier at $97 to $197 per month with basic features enabled, and a premium tier at $297 to $497 with full features. The second is a single flat rate at $97 to $297 per month for all features, which is simpler to sell and support.
Do not price based on what you think the market will bear without doing any research. Price based on the value the platform delivers to your specific niche. A marketing automation platform for roofing companies that generates an extra $5,000 to $10,000 per month in recovered leads and reviews is worth $297 per month to a roofer. Price it accordingly and the conversation about cost becomes very short.
The math on SaaS mode works better than most recurring revenue models agencies have access to. At $297 per client per month with 20 clients, you collect $5,940 monthly and pay GHL $497. The $5,443 monthly margin requires no deliverables, no reporting and no ongoing service unless you choose to offer it. Contrast that with retainer-based agency revenue where you must deliver work to justify every month's fee.
Step-by-step setup
Connect Stripe to your GHL account under Agency Settings, then Stripe Integration. Your Stripe account receives client subscription payments directly. GHL takes no additional transaction fee beyond the platform subscription.
Set up your white-label domain under Agency Settings, then Agency Portal, then Custom Domain. Add the CNAME record GHL provides to your domain registrar. Your clients will access the platform at your custom URL rather than app.gohighlevel.com.
Configure your pricing plans under SaaS Configurator. Set your plan names, prices, billing intervals (monthly or annual) and which GHL features each plan unlocks. You control exactly which parts of the platform each tier of client can access.
Set up your branded pricing page under Agency Settings, then SaaS Pricing Page. This is the page you send prospects to. It shows your plans, your branding and the sign-up flow. When a client signs up, Stripe charges their card and GHL creates their sub-account and sends them login details automatically.
Building your signature snapshot
The snapshot is what differentiates your GHL SaaS from every other agency reselling the same platform. A generic GHL account with no configuration is not worth $297 per month to most clients. A GHL account pre-loaded with industry-specific pipelines, automations, message templates and funnels built specifically for their business is genuinely valuable from day one.
Build your snapshot in a dedicated template sub-account. Configure the pipelines relevant to your niche. Build the 3 to 5 most impactful automations for that industry. Write the message templates. Create at least one lead capture funnel page. Test every automation thoroughly. Save it as a snapshot. Now every new client gets a fully configured system in one click.
Agencies that build strong niche snapshots can charge 2 to 3 times more than those reselling a bare GHL account because the client gets immediate value rather than a tool they have to configure themselves.
How agencies sell their GHL SaaS
The most effective sales frame for a GHL SaaS product is not "here is a marketing platform." It is "here is the system other [plumbers / agents / coaches] in your market are using to recover missed calls, follow up on estimates automatically and build their Google reviews." The conversation is about outcomes, not features.
The missed call text-back is almost always the hook. When you demonstrate that a 60-second automated response to a missed call typically recovers 2 to 4 extra jobs per month for a contractor, and those jobs are worth $2,000 to $8,000, the conversation about $297 per month is straightforward.
Revenue projections
Client count and pricing determine your SaaS revenue. A conservative ramp looks like this: month 1 to 3, build your snapshot and sign your first 3 to 5 clients, often from your existing network. Month 4 to 6, referrals from happy clients and outbound outreach bring you to 10 to 15 clients. Month 6 to 12, a combination of referrals, content marketing and targeted outreach gets you to 20 to 30 clients.
At 25 clients paying $297 per month: $7,425 gross, $6,928 net after the GHL subscription. At 50 clients: $14,850 gross, $14,353 net. These numbers assume no additional services beyond the platform access. Most agencies also offer onboarding, setup and management services on top, which further increases revenue per client.
